WANPIPE POS Support

Pre requisites
|
||
|
--------------
|
||
|
|
||
|
1. A Linux kernel source must be available.
|
||
|
Usually in /usr/src/linux directory.
|
||
|
|
||
|
Furthermore, the linux source version must
|
||
|
match the currently running image.
|
||
|
|
||
|
i.e. Output of 'uname -r'
|
||
|
must match the source version
|
||
|
number in /usr/src/linux/Makefile.
|
||
|
|
||
|
Note: The Setup installation script checks
|
||
|
for this condition and will take
|
||
|
appropriate steps to resolve the
|
||
|
name mismatch.
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
Installing WANPIPE with POS support
|
||
|
-----------------------------------
|
||
|
|
||
|
The POS support is not installed by default
|
||
|
during WANPIPE installation process.
|
||
|
|
||
|
To enable POS support install WANPIPE using
|
||
|
the --protocol option:
|
||
|
|
||
|
./Setup install --protocol=POS
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
Follow the Setup installation script and choose
|
||
|
all DEFAULT options.
|
||
|
|
||
|
After successful installation proceed to
|
||
|
configure you POS card using /usr/sbin/wancfg
|
||
|
GUI configurator.
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
Installation Verification
|
||
|
-------------------------
|
||
|
|
||
|
Run wanpipe hardware probe to
|
||
|
make sure that the kernel modules
|
||
|
are working fine:
|
||
|
|
||
|
Run: wanrouter hwprobe
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
In case of error:
|
||
|

Configuring POS
|
||
|
---------------
|
||
|
|
||
|
Run: /usr/sbin/wancfg
|
||
|
|
||
|
1. Create new device
|
||
|
|
||
|
2. Select wanpipe1
|
||
|
|
||
|
3. Protocol Section
|
||
|
Select Protocol: POS Protocol
|
||
|
|
||
|
4. Hardware Section
|
||
|
Select Probe Hardware
|
||
|
Select your adapter PRI port.
|
||
|
|
||
|
Select POS Protocol
|
||
|
Select desired POS protocol
|
||
|
IBM,NCR,ICL ..
|
||
|
|
||
|
5. Interface Section
|
||
|
Specify interface name.
|
||
|
(Leave it default)
|
||
|
|
||
|
6. End of configuration, exit and save
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
Start POS card
|
||
|

||
|
|
||
|
Run: wanrouter start
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
In case of errors:
|
||
|

||

Run: wanrouter messages
|
||
|
|
||
|
It will display kernel error
|
||
|
messages.
|

Run: wanrouter messages
|
||
|
|
||
|
Confirm that "Pos Firmware Ready!" message exist
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
Custom API Application
|
||
|
----------------------
|
||
|
|
||
|
A sample API application exists in
|
||
|
/etc/wanpipe/api/pos directory.
|
||
|
|
||
|
To compile it run: make
|
||
|
|
||
|
To run it run: ./pos_api wanpipe1 <ifname>
|
||
|
|
||
|
Where <ifname> is the name of
|
||
|
your interface. If you left it default
|
||
|
it would be:
|
||
|
|
||
|
./pos_api wanpipe1 wp1pos
|
||
|
|
||
|
The APP will configure the POS card
|
||
|
and enable both POS sync ports for
|
||
|
receiving.
|
||
|
|
||
|
All data received will be printed out in HEX.
|
||
|
|
||
|
|
||
|
Use this app as a building block for you custom
|
||
|
APP.
