This is required to build all Osmocom projects in docker, because at least libosmocore fails to build with the old image (tests won't build with GCC-4.9.x from jessie unless -Werror is disabled). Do not build the jessie image anymore, and update the shared dockerfile. Remove everything jessie specific, and make it work with stretch by installing asciidoc-dblatex. Otherwise we get this error when building manuals: a2x: ERROR: missing configuration file: /etc/asciidoc/dblatex/asciidoc-dblatex.xsl Add '--cap-add SYS_PTRACE' argument to the docker run command, because otherwise the address sanitizer isn't working anymore with stretch (which makes the OsmoPCU tests fail). jobs: master/gerrit: use debian bookworm (12) Upgrade from debian 11 for master and debian 10 for gerrit verifications to using debian 12 for both. Previously we intentionally built against the older debian 10 version to ensure that our programs still build there. However it is easier to maintain the docker containers if we just use the most recent debian version for both and it makes the build environment more consistent - if a patch passes in gerrit verifications, we expect it to pass in master builds as well. And the other way around, I can just run CI of all master jobs when developing a change and assume that if they pass, gerrit verifications will run as well. As long as we provide binary packages in OBS for debian 11, 10, ... we will still notice if a build breaks on an older debian release. I think this is good enough given that it will probably not happen that often, but if we decide that we really want to ensure it still builds on older distros at gerrit-verification time then the more suitable place to add this would be in the deb-build verification test. It is more maintainable there, because the dependencies just get installed from the debian/control file, no need to add all of them to a docker container beforehand. The new container is debian-bookworm-build, see the docker-playground commit for reasoning why it is not debian-bookworm-jenkins. Let's disable the build testing on FreeBSD. This will significantly speed up our build testing, as well as pave the way for a more comprehensive docker/containerization of build testing. We're still extremely happy to merge any patches for support of FreeBSD or other operating systems. But the core Osmocom developers will not perform related testing / porting. Let's disable the build testing on FreeBSD. This will significantly speed up our build testing, as well as pave the way for a more comprehensive docker/containerization of build testing. gerrit-verifications.yml: Remove FreeBSD_amd64 builds In early September we asked on the public mailing list if there are any users of the FreeBSD builds, and there was no response at all. Let's disable the build testing on FreeBSD. This will significantly speed up our build testing, as well as pave the way for a more comprehensive docker/containerization of build testing. We're still extremely happy to merge any patches for support of FreeBSD or other operating systems. But the core Osmocom developers will not perform related testing / porting. gerrit, master builds: build almost all in docker Instead of building some projects in docker, and some directly on the build slave, build almost all of them in docker with few exceptions, and make building in docker the default. This has several advantages: * build environment of master builds and gerrit verifications is the same, therefore the same build won't pass in gerrit and then fail in master * all build environments are volatile * no more conflicts while running VTY/CTRL tests * fix osmo-python-tests gerrit review versions being installed to /usr/local of build slave (see previous commit message) Projects that still do not get built in docker: * openggsn: depends on libgtpnl, but does not build it in jenkins.sh * osmo-bts: l1headers, various SDKs not installed in the docker image * osmo-trx: LimeSuite is not in the docker image (and just installing the debian package does not work) * osmo-ttcn3-hacks: TTCN-3 not installed in docker image * pysim: needs to access real sim cards attached to the host * sysmo-usim-tool: needs to access real sim cards attached to the host Related: OS#3726, OS#3598 Change-Id: If4b7d2f9ffbc7e92699732d97a8f5829a88c5b35

gerrit-verifications.yml: Remove FreeBSD_amd64 builds In early September we asked on the public mailing list if there are any users of the FreeBSD builds, and there was no response at all. Let's disable the build testing on FreeBSD. This will significantly speed up our build testing, as well as pave the way for a more comprehensive docker/containerization of build testing. We're still extremely happy to merge any patches for support of FreeBSD or other operating systems. But the core Osmocom developers will not perform related testing / porting. gerrit, master builds: build almost all in docker Instead of building some projects in docker, and some directly on the build slave, build almost all of them in docker with few exceptions, and make building in docker the default. jobs/gerrit-verifications: wrap in pipeline job Prepare to reduce the amount of comments sent to gerrit from jenkins and resulting mails. Instead of triggering the jobs directly from gerrit, trigger a pipeline job that calls the original job (now called gerrit-{repos}-build) and will in future patches call all other gerrit verification jobs too (linter, building deb/rpm packages).
