obvious that the returned string is ephemeral, and opens up the original names
in the API for versions that take a wmem pool (and thus can work in any scope).

Now that "bytes consumed" can be determined, should tcp_dissect_pdus() take advantage of that?
Should tcp_dissect_pdus return length (bytes consumed)? There are many dissectors that just call tcp_dissect_pdus() then return tvb_length(tvb). Seems like that could all be rolled into one.

The script didn't catch as many as I would have liked, but it's a start.
The most common (ab)use of proto_tree_add_uint_format was for appending strings to CRC/checksum values to note good or bad CRC/checksum.

was done using textual search+replace, not anything syntax-aware, so presumably
it got most comments as well (except where there were typos).
Use a consistent coding style, and make proper use of the WS_DLL_* defines.
Group the functions appropriately in the header.
I ended up getting rid of most of the explanatory comments since many of them
duplicated what was in the value_string.c file (and were out of sync with the
recent updates I made to those in r48633). Presumably most of the comments
should be in the .h file not the .c file, but there's enough churn ahead that
it's not worth fixing yet.

Also (for a few files):
- create/use some extended value strings;
- remove unneeded #include files;
- remove unneeded variable initialization;
- re-order fcns slightly so prefs_reg_handoff...() at end, etc

1. If there's no character encoding (ENC_ASCII, ...) specified
then use ENC_ASCII.
2. For all but FT_UINT_STRING, always use ENC_NA
(replacing any existing True/1/FALSE/0
/ENC_BIG_ENDIAN/ENC_LITTLE_ENDIAN).
svn path=/trunk/; revision=39426
Specifically: Replace FALSE|0 and TRUE|1 by ENC_BIG_ENDIAN|ENC_LITTLE_ENDIAN as
the encoding parameter for proto_tree_add_item() calls which directly reference
an item in hf[] which has a type of:
FT_BOOLEAN
FT_IPv4
FT_EUI64
FT_GUID
FT_UINT_STRING
Also: For type FT_ITv6 use ENC_NA. (This was missed in SVN #39260)

keys to have _uint in their names, to match the routines that handle
dissector tables with string keys. (Using _port can confuse people into
thinking they're intended solely for use with TCP/UDP/etc. ports when,
in fact, they work better for things such as Ethernet types, where the
binding of particular values to particular protocols are a lot
stronger.)

When dissecting an eDonkey "Request Parts" message, Wireshark incorrectly reads
3 offset start/end pairs when the actual number can be 1-3 pairs.

In the fuction dissect_emule_sourceOBFU(): the line
ti = proto_tree_add_item(tree, hf_emule_sourceOBFU, tvb, offset, 7 + ((settings & 0x08) ? 16 : 0), FALSE);
should be
ti = proto_tree_add_item(tree, hf_emule_sourceOBFU, tvb, offset, 7 + ((settings & 0x80) ? 16 : 0), FALSE);
and, the line:
if (settings & 0x08)
should be:
if (settings & 0x80)
That is, 0x08 should be revised to 0x80.

message types KADEMLIA_REQ and KADEMLIA2_REQ, metatag sourcetype and metatag
encryption
- added: peer id, target id, recipients id, file id, keyword hash as variants
of kademlia hash (searchable as string now)
- added: xor between target id and recipients id
- fixed: ip adresses in taglist now displayed in dotted-decimal (instead of
int)
- fixed: some values in taglist were displayed in octal, it's hex now
- fixed: message type KADEMLIA2_BOOTSTRAP_REQ was wrongly marked as malformed

- fixed: dissection of KADEMLIA2_SEARCH_KEY_REQ and KADEMLIA2_SEARCH_RES
- added: source-publishing and keyword-publishing in KADEMLIA_PUBLISH_REQ
- fixed: decompressed data are not displayed in a subtree anymore
