Do some cleanup related to the reversion of SVN #34848 donr in SVN #39100.

1. Revert SVN #35830 (See Bug #5645);
   This patch is no longer needed given the reversion.

2. Restore 'col_set_str(pinfo->cinfo, COL_INFO, "Ethernet II");' just to
