Helmut Schaa 78e256c9a3 rt2x00: Convert rt2x00 to use threaded interrupts
Use threaded interrupts for all rt2x00 PCI devices.

This has several generic advantages:
- Reduce the time we spend in hard irq context
- Use non-atmic mac80211 functions for rx/tx

Furthermore implementing broad- and multicast buffering will be
much easier in process context while maintaining low latency and
updating the beacon just before transmission (pre tbtt interrupt)
can also be done in process context.

Ivo van Doorn c965c74bbc rt2x00: Implement watchdog monitoring
Implement watchdog monitoring for USB devices (PCI support can
be added later). This will determine if URBs being uploaded to
the hardware are actually returning. Both rt2500usb and rt2800usb
have shown that URBs being uploaded can remain hanging without
being released by the hardware.
By using this watchdog, a queue can be reset when this occurs.
For rt2800usb it has been tested that the connection is preserved
even though this interruption.

Ivo van Doorn 27df2a9ce9 rt2x00: Rename CONFIG_DISABLE_LINK_TUNING
Rename CONFIG_DISABLE_LINK_TUNING to DRIVER_SUPPORT_LINK_TUNING
Link tuning support is not only based on EEPROM decisions, but
also if the device actually supports it.

Currently only rt2500usb doesn't support link tuning because
of hardware problems. But rt2800usb is also suspected of having
problems with link tuning.

Ivo van Doorn 7486192206 rt2x00: Convert AGC value from descriptor to RSSI (dBm)
The RSSI values in the RXWI descriptor aren't true RSSI
values. Instead they are more like the AGC values similar
to rt61pci. And as such, it needs the same conversion
before it can be passed to rt2x00lib/mac80211.

This requires the struct queue_entry to be passed to
rt2800_process_rxwi rather then the skb structure which
is contained in the queue_entry. This is required to
obtain the lna_gain information from the rt2x00_dev structure.

This fixes connection problems when using wpa_supplicant
which would try to connect to the worst AP's rather then the
best ones.

Gertjan van Wingerde 96b61bafe2 rt2x00: Clean up USB vendor request buffer functions.
There is no need to force the separation between a buffer USB vendor
request that does fit the CSR cache and one that doesn't onto the
callers. This is something that the rt2x00usb_vendor_request_buff
function can figure out by itself.
Combine the rt2x00usb_vendor_request_buff and
rt2x00usb_vendor_request_large_buff functions into a single one, as
both of them were equivalent for small buffers anyway.

calculated correctly.

Gertjan van Wingerde 5c3b685c79 rt2x00: Push beacon TX descriptor writing to drivers.
Not all the devices require a TX descriptor to be written (i.e. rt2800
device don't require them). Push down the creation of the TX descriptor
to the device drivers so that they can decide for themselves whether
a TX descriptor is to be created.

Gertjan van Wingerde 85b7a8b387 rt2x00: Simplify TXD handling of beacons.
The handling of tx descriptors for beacons can be simplified by updating
write_tx_desc implementations of each driver to write directly to the
queue entry descriptor instead of to a provided memory area.
This is also a preparation for further clean ups where descriptors are
properly reserved in the skb instead of fiddling with the skb data
pointer.

Gertjan van Wingerde 3b9f0ed78c rt2x00: Fix beaconing on rt2800.
According to the Ralink vendor driver for rt2800 we don't need a full
TXD for a beacon but just a TXWI in front of the actual beacon.
Fix the rt2800pci and rt2800usb beaconing code accordingly.

Gertjan van Wingerde d61cb26696 rt2x00: Clean up all driver's kick_tx_queue callback functions.
All of the driver's kick_tx_queue callback functions treat the TX queue
for beacons in a special manner.
Clean this up by integrating the kicking of the beacon queue into the
write_beacon callback function, and let the generic code no longer call
the kick_tx_queue callback function when updating the beacon.

Helmut Schaa 1affa09197 rt2x00: rt2800: use correct txop value in tx descriptor
rt2800 devices use a different enumeration to specify what IFS values should
be used on frame transmission compared to the other rt2x00 devices. Hence,
create a new enum called txop that contains the valid values.

Furthermore use the appropriate txop values as found in the ralink drivers:
- TXOP_BACKOFF for management frames
- TXOP_SIFS for subsequent fragments in a burst
- TXOP_HTTXOP for all data frames

Gertjan van Wingerde de1ebdceb6 rt2x00: rt2800 - Make rt30xx and rt35xx chipsets configurable.
Support for rt30xx- and rt35xx-based devices is currently not functional
in rt2800pci and rt2800usb.
In order to not confuse users we shouldn't claim the PCI and USB device
ID's for these devices. However, to allow for testing it is good to still
have them available, although disabled by default.
Make support for these device configuration options that default to off.

For rt2800usb a 3rd class of devices is added, which are the unknown
devices. For these devices it is known that they are either based on
rt28xx, rt30xx or rt35xx, but it is not known on what chipset exactly.
These devices are disabled by default as well, until it can be established
on what chipset exactly they are based.

Gertjan van Wingerde 49e721ec6c rt2x00: rework RT chipset and revision determination for PCI an SOC devices.
The recent rt2800 devices are no longer really identified by their PCI
ID's, but rather by the contents of their CSR0 register. Also for the
other chipsets is the contents of this CSR0 register important.
Change the chipset determination logic to be more aligned with the rt2800
model.
Preparation for the support of rt3070 / rt3090 based devices.

Gertjan van Wingerde 5122d89862 rt2x00: Cleanup chip handling helper functions.
Let each of them take a struct rt2x00_dev pointer as argument instead of
a mixture of struct rt2x00_chip and struct rt2x00_dev pointers.
Preparation for further clean ups in the rt2x00 chip handling, especially

Benoit Papillault 5de42f9eea rt2x00: Fix rt2800usb RX frame format and as such L2PAD
According to Ralink source code, the RX frame format is RXINFO + RXWI +
802.11 frame + RXD, including various padding. Before this patch, we
were using RXD + RXWI + 802.11 frame, so RXD was not correct.

Doing this, we fix the L2PAD bit which is now correctly set on received
frames.

Benoit PAPILLAULT 9c8427d9de rt2x00: Disable RX aggregation for rt2800usb
RX aggregation is a way to receive multiple 802.11 frames in one RX buffer.
However, we don't know yet how to handle this case in rt2800usb_fill_rxdone
and this has probably no impact on RX performance as well, so we disable it

Gertjan van Wingerde 354e39dbb1 rt2x00: Remove SKBDESC_L2_PADDED flag.
With the improved L2 padding code, this flag is no longer necessary, as the
rt2x00queue_remove_l2pad is capable of detecting by itself if L2 padding is
applied.
For received frames the RX descriptor flag is still being checked.
