Linus Torvalds 6be35c700f Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next
Pull networking changes from David Miller:

1) Allow to dump, monitor, and change the bridge multicast database
   using netlink.  From Cong Wang.

2) RFC 5961 TCP blind data injection attack mitigation, from Eric
   Dumazet.

3) Networking user namespace support from Eric W. Biederman.

4) tuntap/virtio-net multiqueue support by Jason Wang.

5) Support for checksum offload of encapsulated packets (basically,
tunneled traffic can still be checksummed by HW). From Joseph
   Gasparakis.

6) Allow BPF filter access to VLAN tags, from Eric Dumazet and
   Daniel Borkmann.

7) Bridge port parameters over netlink and BPDU blocking support
   from Stephen Hemminger.

8) Improve data access patterns during inet socket demux by rearranging
   socket layout, from Eric Dumazet.

9) TIPC protocol updates and cleanups from Ying Xue, Paul Gortmaker, and
   Jon Maloy.

10) Update TCP socket hash sizing to be more in line with current day
realities. The existing heurstics were choosen a decade ago.
    From Eric Dumazet.

11) Fix races, queue bloat, and excessive wakeups in ATM and
associated drivers, from Krzysztof Mazur and David Woodhouse.

12) Support DOVE (Distributed Overlay Virtual Ethernet) extensions
in VXLAN driver, from David Stevens.

13) Add "oops_only" mode to netconsole, from Amerigo Wang.

14) Support set and query of VEB/VEPA bridge mode via PF_BRIDGE, also
allow DCB netlink to work on namespaces other than the initial
    namespace. From John Fastabend.

15) Support PTP in the Tigon3 driver, from Matt Carlson.

16) tun/vhost zero copy fixes and improvements, plus turn it on
by default, from Michael S. Tsirkin.

17) Support per-association statistics in SCTP, from Michele
    Baldessari.

And many, many, driver updates, cleanups, and improvements. Too
numerous to mention individually.

Greg Kroah-Hartman 1dd06ae8db drivers/net: fix up function prototypes after __dev* removals
The __dev* removal patches for the network drivers ended up messing up
the function prototypes for a bunch of drivers. This patch fixes all of
them back up to be properly aligned.

Bonus is that this almost removes 100 lines of code, always a nice
surprise.

Linus Torvalds 90bf80a1f1 ARM: ixp4xx bug fixes
These were originally prepared by Krzysztof Halasa but not submitted
in time for v3.7 due to some confusion about how ixp4xx patches should
be handled. Jason Cooper thankfully offered to help out sending the
patches upstream through arm-soc now, but given the timing, we could
as well delay them for 3.8.

Florian Fainelli 0b836ddde1 ixp4xx_hss: fix build failure due to missing linux/module.h inclusion
Commit 36a1211970 (netprio_cgroup.h:
dont include module.h from other includes) made the following build
error on ixp4xx_hss pop up:

  CC [M] drivers/net/wan/ixp4xx_hss.o
 drivers/net/wan/ixp4xx_hss.c:1412:20: error: expected ';', ',' or ')'
 before string constant
 drivers/net/wan/ixp4xx_hss.c:1413:25: error: expected ';', ',' or ')'

 before string constant
 make[8]: *** [drivers/net/wan/ixp4xx_hss.o] Error 1

This was previously hidden because ixp4xx_hss includes linux/hdlc.h which
includes linux/netdevice.h which includes linux/netprio_cgroup.h which
used to include linux/module.h. The real issue was actually present since
the initial commit that added this driver since it uses macros from
linux/module.h without including this file.

Linus Torvalds fb09bafda6 Staging tree pull request for 3.5-rc1
Here is the big staging tree pull request for the 3.5-rc1 merge window.

Loads of changes here, and we just narrowly added more lines than we
 added:
  622 files changed, 28356 insertions(+), 26059 deletions(-)

But, good news is that there is a number of subsystems that moved out of
the staging tree, to their respective "real" portions of the kernel.

 Code that moved out was:
 	- iio core code
 	- mei driver
 	- vme core and bridge drivers

There was one broken network driver that moved into staging as a step
before it is removed from the tree (pc300), and there was a few new
 drivers added to the tree:
 	- new iio drivers
 	- gdm72xx wimax USB driver
 	- ipack subsystem and 2 drivers

All of the movements around have acks from the various subsystem
maintainers, and all of this has been in the linux-next tree for a
 while.

Jiri Slaby 91ceae374e NET: pc300, move to staging as it is broken
It was marked as BROKEN back in 2008. It is because the tty handling
in the driver is really broken.

There was some activity in January 2012 to fix the driver, but the
patch was commented to be bogus:
  https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/1/29/160
and we have not heard back from the author since then:
  https://lkml.org/lkml/2012/3/28/412

So since nobody stepped in and rewrote the driver, it is time to move
it out of line now. And drop it some time later if nobody comes up
with patches to fix the driver in staging.

Jiri Slaby ac4e016df4 NET: pc300, show version info from module init
Again, no need to do that from the pci probe function.

Hmm, I noticed this driver is marked as BROKEN. Won't touch it more,
it has to be converted to dynamic tty driver allocation first.

Perhaps it is time to move it to staging?

Rusty Russell eb93992207 module_param: make bool parameters really bool (net & drivers/net)
module_param(bool) used to counter-intuitively take an int. In
fddd5201 (mid-2009) we allowed bool or int/unsigned int using a messy
trick.

It's time to remove the int/unsigned int option. For this version
it'll simply give a warning, but it'll break next kernel version.

(Thanks to Joe Perches for suggesting coccinelle for 0/1 -> true/false).

Neil Horman 550fd08c2c net: Audit drivers to identify those needing IFF_TX_SKB_SHARING cleared
After the last patch, We are left in a state in which only drivers calling
ether_setup have IFF_TX_SKB_SHARING set (we assume that drivers touching real
hardware call ether_setup for their net_devices and don't hold any state in
their skbs. There are a handful of drivers that violate this assumption of
course, and need to be fixed up. This patch identifies those drivers, and marks
them as not being able to support the safe transmission of skbs by clearning the
IFF_TX_SKB_SHARING flag in priv_flags
